This was a totally preventable situation especially since there are children involved. No one should ever drive drunk and even less when there are children present. The best thing to do is have an Uber or Lyft account available to ride home. Spending a couple of dollars on a ride home is a lot cheaper than the life time of pain this father will have to endure the rest of his life. DUIs involving accidents are hard to overcome as it is without having a fatality involved.
